In May 2007, the Library of Congress gathered an unprecedented group of musicians together in Washington DC to honor Simon as the 1st recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Filmed at the Austin Opry House and out on location, this Willie Nelson Special features great performances by Willie and his band who are joined by special guest Ray Charles for duets with Willie Nelson on six songs. Also featured is a trip to Willie's home town of Abbott, Texas and a chance to explore his roots with many of the people he grew up with.
