Melina Aslanidou was born in Stuttgart though she soon returned with her family to Greece and grew up in Giannitsa. Her first contact with music was in an early age when she started participating in the local choir and later on in the musical school events. In her 18 years she went to Thessaloniki for studies and later on she started singing in small student venues.

Melina Aslanidou (born Symela Aslanidou 28 August 1974 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a Greek singer. Aslanidou was born on 28 August 1974 in Stuttgart, Germany from Greek parents. Later, she moved with her family to Greece and grew up in Paralimni, Cyprus. Since 2000 to 2002 she was a member of the band Oi Apenanti. Since then Aslanidou has been on a solo career. In 2003 she released her debut solo album, called To Perasma.
