Memphis Willie B. (November 4, 1911 – October 5, 1993) was an American Memphis blues guitarist, harmonica player, singer and songwriter. He was known for his work with Jack Kelly's Jug Busters and the Memphis Jug Band. His career was revived in the 1960s after years away from the music industry. He recorded "The Stuff Is Here" and "Stop Cryin' Blues"

In 1961, folklorist Sam Charters was in Memphis looking for someone who could sing "those real, old, hard blues" when Will Shade introduced him to Willie Borum. The singer, guitarist, and harmonica player was born in Memphis and based in that city all his life, yet his raw approach to the blues betrayed a style rooted in the country. This album, the first of Willie . s two for the Prestige/Bluesville label, reveals, in Charters’s words, "an intense, moving singer in the greatest blues tradition.
