Max Eider ‎– Disaffection. Label: Tundraduck Records ‎– TDKS003CD. Mastered By – John A. Rivers. Vocals – June Miles-Kingston. Vocals, Guitar – Max Eider. Written-By – Max Eider. Mastered at Woodbine Street, Leamington Spa.

The fourth solo album, with June Miles-Kingston. Disaffection is stinking brilliant, seriously. absolutely spectacular song-craft. Indie Albany, New York. Genre: Pop: Pop/Rock. Max Eider is perhaps best known as the once and (occasionally) present/future guitarist with the Jazz Butcher Conspiracy, but his four solo albums are filled with absolutely spectacular song-craft, anchored around the distinctive sound of his classic Gretsch Double Anniversary guitar, played as well as it can be played here.

Never underestimate the power of good ol' guitar pop. Right from his early days with UK indie-pub rockers the Jazz Butcher, Max Eider established himself as a master of clean, hollow-body, jazz-influenced guitar lines. On his fourth solo album, he's hardly changed his style a bit, and that's a pleasure. Disaffection, apparently borne of Eider's struggles with depression, is understandably mellow.

Max Eider (real name, Peter Millson) is a guitarist and songwriter. He studied English Literature at University College, Oxford, graduating in Trinity Term 1980. He played guitar with Pat Fish (The Jazz Butcher) from June 1982 until 27 November 1986, when after an alcohol-fuelled altercation with Fish, he left the band.

Exclusive Prime pricing. Most people with a hear that swarms to finding that certain music that truly speaks to them have a few "if only people heard this, they would understand" artists. For myself, Max Eider is most definitely at the top of that list. In the years since his early role as right hand man for The Jazz Butcher, he has perfected the style of eccentric British indie singer songwriter and then expanded upon it to inhabit his own unique elements. This album is one of his finest moments.
