Frederic Chiu (born 20 October 1964) is a Chinese American classical concert pianist. Chiu was born in Ithaca, New York. He studied music seriously with William Eltzroth at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, with Karen Shaw (and also studied computer science) at Indiana University, then pursued his musical studies in New York at the Juilliard School, where he studied with Abbey Simon. He also studied with Aube Tzerko, Marvin Wolfthal and Marian Rybicki.

Pianist Frederic Chiu performs Hymns and Dervishes, music by Gurdjieff/De Hartmann, presented in altered tunings imagined by Frederic Chiu. This work will be the capstone for the album Hymns & Dervishes, coming January 2016 on the Centaur Label.
