Fire Town had a great pop rock sound, not power pop but a not too far away either. I remember Robbie Robertson once discussing why he liked The BoDeans and would eventually have them play on his first solo album. He said that he liked them because They sounded like a band that would all walk up together to their mics and sing the harmonies. You could say the same thing about Fire Town. You can still find this album on the download sites like our friends at MO. om.

Fire Town was a garage-rock band formed in the mid-1980s in Madison, Wisconsin, from the remnants of an earlier popular local group, Spooner. Fire Town were signed to a major label and published two albums, In the Heart of the Heart Country and The Good Life. Fire Town separated in 1989 as the members' production commitments grew.

Although, surprisingly, nothing on The Good Life quite catches fire, the great "Where the Shadows Fall" has much to recommend a listen, as do "Sounds Like Thunder" and the title cut. You could call this one of the lost releases of the late '80s - that's a shame, because there's some great music here.
